Spring flavors

One of my favorite blogs to visit is Your Homebased Mom, mostly because of the wonderful recipes Leigh Ann offers. There are also great craft ideas, like these super cute Easter baskets.

As part of our Easter dinner plans, I decided to try out the Spinach Strawberry Salad Leigh Anne wrote about here. I truly wished I had taken a picture of this salad because it was so pretty, especially since I had used my great-grandmother’s glass bowl to serve it in. I believe all of the adults at the table on Easter Sunday will agree with me that it was VERY yummy! I loved it for the light, yummy flavor and for how easy it was to make. And just a note, I did not add the red onion as I don’t care for raw onions, but regardless, this salad will be on our dinner table throughout the summer!

Review: Myself Belts

It’s Preschool Week here at ITLOW! Actually, it’s Spring Break, even for littles, which means I’ve got my Bubbs home all week – so I thought I’d focus my posts on him!

Bubbs has always been on the thin side. He was 7 lbs, 10 oz at birth – a normal birth weight. Today, at 3 months shy of his 4th birthday, he’s just a shade over 30 lbs and is 40 inches in height. His 11-mth old brother is 22 lbs and 30 inches in length. My Bubbs is tall & skinny!

If you’re the parent or other relative of a skinny kid, you know how difficult the winter months can be. These poor kids are constantly pulling their pants up or riding some serious high waters because their waistbands are folded over. Neither option is comfortable. Continue reading

These are the days of LOST and confused

I’m not quite the TV junkie that I used to be  (thank goodness). I would like to think it’s because I’ve come to understand the depravity that television can bring into one’s life and I don’t need that kind of exposure to worldly ideas.

But really it’s more to do with the fact that I have 2 children who consume 90% of my time and until there’s more than 24 hours in a day, I’m not going to be sitting in front of the tube much. That and there really isn’t anything super great on these days anyways….

BUT, there’s a little show called LOST and this one has had me hooked for several years now. We are FINALLY in the last season of the show, which is both awesome and “bumming” at the same time. Awesome because the viewer (addict) will hopefully get many of their unending questions answered; bumming because there will once again be even fewer good shows to watch (I’ve got 10 channels people, not much to choose from!!).
